Getting Started with News Feeds

Overview

Loyalty News Feeds serve as a channel for brands to interact with their loyalty program Members. A News Feed delivers a stream of timely, relevant content to Members on your website or within your mobile app. Within the News Feed, you can post updates and insights, present Loyalty assets such as Offers or Rewards, and engage with your Members through comments, likes, and shares. A News Feed can serve as a content hub for your loyalty program. Unlike messages in other channels, the content in a News Feed is persistent, allowing Members to revisit a post.

News Feeds can be configured as a one-way communication method, where Members are not allowed to post or comment, or as a public forum where Members can contribute. You can also configure system-generated posts that get created based on Member actions, such as redeeming a Reward or completing a Challenge. The platform provides full content management functionality, allowing you to oversee what appears in the News Feed. You can hide or delete irrelevant posts, bump noteworthy posts to the top of the News Feed, and pin posts that are important for your Members to view. You can also limit which Members are eligible to view a News Feed through the use of Segments and / or Places.

Default News Feed

The platform allows you to define multiple News Feeds, such as for different brands, for example. You can designate one News Feed as the default. The Loyalty Member API will use this default News Feed if a News Feed isn't specified in the API message.

The default News Feed is designated by means of a Program Setting called Internal Name of the Default News Feed. See Program Setting Category - News Feed for more information.

Access

The News Feeds screen is used to view, create, and manage the News Feeds in your loyalty program. To access the News Feeds screen, select Communities from the top navigation bar, then select News Feed from the side navigation menu.
